Zhikai Peng (彭智凯)

Zhikai Peng is an assistant professor in human comfort in Delft University of Technology. He has a diverse educational background in urban design and engineering in China, Austria, and the UK. He is also an associated research fellow in Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS Institute). Zhikai Peng's research at TU Delft focuses on urban climate and outdoor thermal comfort. His approach combines numerical simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) with on-site fixed, walking, and cycling measurements, complemented by psychophysiological surveys (wearables, questionnaires and interview). Zhikai Peng's research interests include evaluating user comfort, spatial behaviours, and experiences in different sun and wind conditions in public spaces. He collaborates with experts from mechanical engineering, geography, and psychology.
