Institute of urban meteorology CMA
I'm Zhigang Cheng, a researcher in the Institute of Urban Meteorology, Beijing, CMA. My research interests mainly focus on the planetary boundary layer, where I explore the observations, mechanisms and applications. Accurate profile observations of wind, temperature, aerosol, etc. in the PBL are crucial. I have some results about vertical turbulence profile observations using Doppler wind lidar, and characteristics of aerosol vertical turbulence transport using both Doppler wind lidar and aerosol lidar. And I am trying to apply the observations of ground-based lidar to the researches of high-impact weather, such as thunderstorm, which is the focus of the weather bureau.
