I am currently a year three PhD student in Division of Environment and Sustainability at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. My research focuses on using advanced parametrisation, typically aided by high-order model, to improve the regional weather downscaling and forecasting. I have been using LiDAR network deployed in Hong Kong to validate the newly proposed method in my research. I also look forward to delving into finer scale computation fluid dynamics modelling that can further improve the turbulence transport processes in the urban environment. The expected outcome of suing such finer scale simulation results is to provide a solid benchmark to validate the new model under a variety of atmospheric stabilities without costly experimenting or physically measuring meteorological variables, which facilitates a flexible testbed.
