Wai Sing Man is founder and president of Amonics Limited, a Hong Kong based photonic company established since 2002. He received his bachelor of science (honours) degree from University of Queensland and PhD degree from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has over 20 years of research, development and manufacturing experience in fibre lasers and optical amplifiers. He has a strong academic research record, founded a start-up high-tech company and taken the leadership role of running a successful business. He founded Amonics Limited to provide benchtop optical amplifiers for the scientific market. Wai Sing and his team have developed a series of high-performance fibre amplifiers and lasers products that are used in R&D institutes and universities in over 20 countries over the world. Amonics received the technological achievement award from the Hong Kong government for their development of specialty optical amplifier and fibre laser for optical communication.
