Vivian Li (李曉炘)

I am working on wind shear and turbulence alerting systems and LIDARs at the Hong Kong International Airport to enhance aviation safety. I calculate and determine the scanning strategy of the LIDARs. I tune the LIDARs to achieve higher probability detection and lower the alert duration. I would like to know more about different applications of LIDARs in our high density city. I am also exploring the use of multiple LIDARs to monitor the wind field near Chek Lap Kok, such as the head wind and cross wind change during landing and take-off. I would also like to learn how can LIDARs help us to study microclimate.
