Sheng Bao (包胜)

Sheng Bao is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Geography at HKU, currently studying the traffic impact of the MiC applications. He earned a Bachelor’s in Automation Engineering and a Master’s in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA). He obtained a PhD in Urban Informatics and Smart City from the PolyU in 2022. He is broadly interested in solving practical issues about smart cities, multi-sensor integrated positioning, robotics and autonomous systems, and LiDAR-based simultaneous localisation and mapping (SLAM). He has published 6 papers in journals like Nature Communication, Advanced Engineering Informatics, IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters as the first and second author, and more than 10 SCI papers in total. He has applied for 10 patents (5 granted).
