Ridwan Noor
North South University
I'm Ridwan Noor, a lecturer at North South University, and I'm presently enrolled in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology's (BUET) Master of Architecture (M.Arch) programme. In order to mitigate the effects of urban heat islands (UHIs), improve public spaces, and increase urban resilience, my study focuses on sustainable urban design. Using ENVI-met simulation tools, this thesis assesses the potential of green roofs in reducing UHI at the neighbourhood level in Dhaka. The contribution of green infrastructure—such as urban greenery and green roofs—to the development of more sustainable and liveable urban settings particularly interests me. My overarching objective is to create novel approaches that strike a balance between urban liveability and environmental sustainability, particularly in densely populated areas.
