University of Hong Kong
Qiuyi Xu is currently a research assistant at University of Hong Kong. Her research primarily focuses on the urban ventilation during extreme heat conditions. To better understand and mitigate the effects of these extreme heat events, she has been using LiDAR network deployed in Hong Kong to provide wind data, which is essential for analysing airflow patterns and developing strategies to enhance urban cooling and ventilation. She is particularly interested in the interactions between urban environments, climate, and atmospheric processes, which drives her passion for exploring innovative strategies in urban resilience. Her goal is to contribute to more sustainable urban planning and design that can effectively reduce heat stress and improve the quality of life in densely populated urban environments.
