University of Genoa
Priya Kumari pursued her academic journey in computer science, earning her bachelor's degree from West Bengal University of Technology, India, and her master's degree from Banasthali University, India. She then expanded her expertise by completing her PhD in earth and atmospheric science at National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, India. Her doctoral research focused on "advancing severe thunderstorm prediction in eastern India using satellite observations and high-resolution models." This research endeavours to enhance the accuracy of thunderstorm forecasting, exploring the intersection of satellite data and high-resolution modelling. The research topics include thunderstorm climatology, high-resolution weather modelling, land-use sensitivity analysis, and satellite data assimilation, underscoring significant contributions to atmospheric sciences.
