Michael Wong (王謀峯)
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Michael Wong is a postdoctoral researcher at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). His research focuses on understanding the complex interactions between urban environments, climate, and atmospheric processes. Through the application of remote sensing, geoinformatics, and machine learning techniques, Wong aims to contribute to the development of sustainable urban planning strategies and climate adaptation measures. Specifically, Wong is investigating the impacts of urban heat islands on local and regional climate patterns, as well as exploring the potential of machine learning models to predict and mitigate the effects of extreme heat events. He is also attempting to improve the prognostic and diagnostic meteorological models to improve the accuracy of weather forecast and meteorological simulation.
