I am a PhD student in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences of McGill University working under the supervision of Professor Djordje Romanic. My background is in Atmospheric Sciences and Civil Engineering. In my PhD, I use lidar measurements of atmospheric boundary layer winds over downtown Montreal to quantify mean and turbulence statistics of the flow. I apply signal processing methods to remove noise from the measurements. I look for methods to improve the turbulence results that are effected by non-converging statistics. I also look for ways to retrieve true velocity fluctuations that are dampened by temporal averaging performed by the instrument. Finally, I aim to develop a theory of urban boundary layer winds in mid-latitude regions.
