Manavi Suneja
IIT Roorkee
Manavvi Suneja, a landscape architect and Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture and Planning, IIT Roorkee, focuses on outdoor thermal comfort, nature-based solutions, and green infrastructure for sustainable urban development and well-being. Her doctoral research established outdoor thermal comfort as a finely graded perceptual construct, bridging biometeorology, environmental psychology, and design through an adaptive thermal comfort framework. Using mixed methods, her study integrated real-time micrometeorological monitoring with subjective surveys across diverse open spaces. Manavvi has published in leading journals such as Building and Environment and International Journal of Biometeorology and serves as a reviewer for various renowned journals. Her research includes climate-responsive open space design and addressing heat's impact on vulnerable populations. This workshop will support her in integrating LiDAR technology to analyse impact of 3D landscape patterns and morphology on outdoor thermal comfort, as well as understand the role of vegetation in mitigating adverse micrometeorological conditions.
