Luiz Fernando Kowalski earned his PhD in urban engineering at Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and physic geography at University of Lisbon (IGOT/ULisboa). He is currently engaged in developing spatial and technological solutions for cool pavements in climate-responsive urban design. Next to this, his research covers the topics of urban engineering and physical simulation of outdoor climate adaptation. After gaining a diploma in civil engineering, he got his master's degree in the urban engineering program at Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) in 2019 and MBA in data science and analytics at University of São Paulo (USP). In 2018, he accomplished a specialisation degree in concrete structure at the Adventist University Center of São Paulo (UNASP), where he is now an associate professor in the civil engineering department and coordinator of technological nucleus of engineering and architecture (NUTEA/UNASP).
