Kelvin Li (李文辉)
Urban Redevelopment Authority
Kelvin has been working on integrating environmental modelling work flow (e.g. Computational fluid dynamics wind flow simulation, solar irradiance, noise modelling, etc.) with urban planning and design processes. He has supported various urban design projects by using environmental modelling to refine urban design guidelines and technical conditions of tender for government land sales sites in Singapore so as to better guide development in mitigating urban heat island effect and improving thermal comfort. Lately he is also researching with NUS on the use of wind lidar equipment in sensing and using the vertical wind profile for modelling inputs. He is also interested in the use of microclimate sensors to track the effectiveness of urban design strategies and have been working on the deployment of such sensors in residential site.
