Urban climatologist mostly focused on applied research using both measuring and modelling techniques. During the first 10 years of career his work focused was on atmospheric pollution. He took part in and was responsible for a great number of studies related to meteorology and air quality. Later, he started to focus on human biometeorology in urban areas. He has worked in different urban spatial scales, analysing effects of vegetation, and urban morphology on the urban heat.
The last 8 years he has been part of the Cooling Singapore project aiming to evaluate mitigation strategies to beat the urban heat and improve thermal comfort.
In the following years the will be working on real-time thermal information systems (based on hybrid models).
