Ivana Ivancic graduated in 2022 with a degree in mechanical engineering, specialising in computational mechanics and engineering at the Tehnicki Fakultet in Rijeka. She is currently a PhD student at Scuola Superiore Studi (IUSS) Pavia in the CARISMA group in wind engineering. Her PhD project is titled risk assessment of the port exposure to downslope winds, for which a complementary approach of field measurements with LiDAR scanner and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations will be used to predict the wind field in a specific port area and the effects of downslope winds on port infrastructures. The case study is Port of Genoa, Italy.
