Lin specialises in satellite and in-situ LiDAR remote sensing, and air pollution. Since 2015, he has developed various algorithms to estimate ground-level concentrations of air pollutants based on the satellite measurements. In 2011, I was responsible for maintaining an aerosol LiDAR system in Beijing. By 2019, my operations expanded to include an ozone LiDAR in Hong Kong. Since 2020, I have deployed multiple wind LiDAR systems across Hong Kong. These LiDAR measurements have been used in studying the PBL dynamics and vertical variations in wind fields and pollutant concentrations. These investigations have made significant contributions to enhancing our understanding of the 3D dynamics of meteorology and air pollution within the PBL.
