Prof Peter Goodwin
President, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science
Professor and President, The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, and President of the International Association for Hydro-environmental Engineering and Research (IAHR). Prof Goodwin is an internationally recognized expert in sediment transport and eco-hydraulics, and the simulation of ecological response to management actions or changes in physical processes of rivers, lakes, estuaries, and wetlands. He is the founding director of the Center for Eco-hydraulics Research at the University of Idaho. Prof Goodwin was Chief Scientist for California Delta Science Program (2011-2015) and has a deep understanding of the link between climate change and ecosystem services, as well as the development of multi-disciplinary science synthesis activities to inform water policy. He has served as a scientific advisor for several government agencies related to river and wetland management issues, including chairing the Louisiana Coastal Area Science Board.
