Prof Dragan A Savic
Professor of Hydro-informatics, University of Exeter
Fellow, Royal Academy of Engineering (2013); Member, European Academy of Sciences (2014). Prof Savic is the UK’s first Professor of Hydro-informatics having held this post at the University of Exeter since 2001. He is an international expert on the interface between water/environmental science and engineering, informatics/computer science (including Artificial Intelligence, data mining and optimization techniques) and environmental engineering. His research areas include: (i) hydro-informatics tools and techniques and their effective application to managing risk and uncertainties associated with water systems; (ii) real‐time management of urban water systems involving smart monitoring, telemetered systems and sensor networks; and (iii) understanding of urban water distribution and wastewater systems, including technical, socio-economic and environmental issues.
