Yuksam Cheung

Yuksam Cheung is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at Hong Kong Baptist University, focusing on the application and innovation of large language models (LLMs) and foundation models in bioinformatics. His work bridges artificial intelligence and biomedical research, with particular emphasis on molecular pathology, spatial transcriptomics, and single-cell pathology. Recently, Yuksam has been developing unsupervised generation models for immunohistochemistry data and exploring the use of LLMs in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) education. His research builds on a PhD foundation in neural network optimization and large-scale data mining, reflecting a consistent focus on creating scalable, explainable, and domain-adaptive AI systems for real-world challenges. He is passionate about applying AI in health-related contexts and finds deep satisfaction in contributing to research that bridges innovation and clinical impact.
