Yingzhi Liu (劉穎芝)
Chinese University of Hong Kong
I obtained my MPH (Master of Public Health) degree from the Chinese Hong Kong University in 2015 after graduating from Guangzhou Medical School with a bachelor’s degree in Preventive Medicine. I joined the Department of Anaethesia and Intensive Care at the Chinese University of Hong Kong as a research assistant in 2018 and became a Ph.D. candidate in 2019. My research background is in respiratory tract infection (epidemiology) and gut microbiome (bioinformatics). In the past years, I have had experiences using metagenomic data, combining the angle from the public health aspect to contribute to several gut microbiome studies, especially early life studies. My research interest, or future research perspective, is to apply the metagenomic approach to early-stage infection notification and prevention.
