Yifan Chen

Yifan Chen is an assistant professor in computer science and math at Hong Kong Baptist University. He is broadly interested in developing efficient algorithms for machine learning and data science, encompassing both statistical and deep learning models. He has multiple publication in top venues of machine learning, such as NeurIPS, ICML, KDD, AAAI, AISTATS, EMNLP, NAACL, and transactions on machine learning research. Before joining Hong Kong Baptist University, Yifan earned his PhD degree in Statistics from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2023 under the guidance of Professor Yun Yang, and earned his BS in Statistics from Fudan University in 2018.
