Dr. Xiaoyu Yan is an Associate Professor at the School of Pharmacy, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, China, and a Master’s in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Dr. Yan completed his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University at Buffalo (SUNY) in 2012. Following his doctoral studies, he worked as a clinical pharmacometrician and pharmacologist at Janssen Research & Development (Johnson & Johnson) and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in the United States. In the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Yan applied model-informed drug development to guide teams in understanding disease mechanisms and optimizing dosing strategies, contributing to the global approval of new therapies across oncology, immunology, cardiovascular, and neuroscience. Since joining CUHK in 2018, his research has focused on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of therapeutic biologics, utilizing modeling and simulation to optimize drug therapy and develop innovative treatment.
