Xiaoyu Yan (闫晓宇)

Xiaoyu Yan is an associate professor at Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, and a master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from University of Saskatchewan. Xiaoyu completed his PhD in pharmaceutical sciences at University at Buffalo (SUNY) in 2012. Following his doctoral studies, he worked as a clinical pharmacometrician and pharmacologist at Janssen Research & Development (Johnson & Johnson) and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in the United States. In the pharmaceutical industry, Xiaoyu applied model-informed drug development to guide teams in understanding disease mechanisms and optimising dosing strategies, contributing to the global approval of new therapies across oncology, immunology, cardiovascular, and neuroscience. Since joining CUHK in 2018, his research has focused on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of therapeutic biologics, utilising modelling and simulation to optimise drug therapy and develop innovative treatments.
