Iriza Baranyanka is an MSc graduate researcher in bioinformatics and systems biology at University of Amsterdam and VU Amsterdam, focusing on applying machine learning to biomedical data. Currently, at University of Hong Kong, she integrates large-scale transcriptomic datasets, clinical metadata, and whole-slide images to investigate tumour biology and immune activation, particularly emphasising transposable element (TE) expression in colorectal cancer. Iriza develops reproducible computational pipelines and works extensively with R and Python in high-performance computing environments. She is especially interested in how artificial intelligence (AI) can bridge molecular signals with histopathology. Her broader research interests lie at the intersection of AI, cancer immunology, and translational genomics, with the goal of generating insights that can meaningfully support biomedical research.
