Dr Martin BECK
GROUP LEADER AND SENIOR SCIENTIST, European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL)
European research council (ERC) Investigator Group Leader and Senior Scientist European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) Heidelberg European Research Council (ERC) Investigator Expertise: Integrative structure determination of macromolecular assemblies Martin Beck graduated from the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg with a diplomat in Biochemistry in 2001. He started his PhD study at Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried, Germany under the supervision of Prof. Wolfgang Baumeister in 2002. He was awarded PhD in life sciences, ‘summa cum laude’ by The Technical University of Munich in 2006. He worked as postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Molecular Systems Biology from 2006-2009. Then, he joined the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and is the Group leader at the Structural and Computational Biology Unit. Research in the Beck group combines biochemical approaches, proteomics and cryo-electron microscopy to study large macromolecular assemblies. List of Key Publications : 1.
