Zonglong Zhu

Zonglong Zhu is Chair Professor of Chemistry and Photovoltaic Technology at City University of Hong Kong. He earned his BSc from Nanjing University (2010), PhD in chemistry from HKUST, and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Washington. His work focuses on emerging photovoltaic technologies and advanced materials for high‑performance, scalable solar energy. He has published 150+ SCI papers with 18,000+ citations, including 3 landmark Science articles (2022, 2023, 2024), 75+ corresponding-author papers, and 29 Highly Cited Papers. Recognitions include Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher (2022–2024) and Stanford’s top 2% most-cited scientists (2021–2024). He has received major honours such as the RGC Research Fellow Award and the NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund, and secured over HK$45 million in competitive funding, with HK$30+ million as PI or Project Coordinator.
