Xin Wang

Xin Wang is the Dean of the College of Science and Chair Professor of Electrochemistry at City University of Hong Kong, where he also heads the Department of Chemistry and directs the JC STEM Lab of Electrocatalysis and Electrosynthesis. He earned his BEng and MPhil from Zhejiang University, PhD from HKUST, and held roles at UC Riverside and in industry before joining NTU (Assistant Professor 2005; Associate Professor 2010; Professor 2016; Cheng Tsang Man Chair Professor in Energy 2022). His research focuses on nanostructure design, surface functionalisation, and interface engineering for selective electrocatalysis in energy and environmental applications. He is associate editor of Carbon Energy, Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore and the Royal Society of Chemistry, a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher since 2018, and recipient of the Mitsui Chemicals–SNIC Industry Award and the Nanyang Research Award (both 2021).
