Zhijun Cai is a PhD candidate in the Department of Physics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, under the supervision of Professor Quan Li. He previously received his bachelor's degree in materials science and engineering from Wuhan University of Technology with top honours, earning the President Yuan Runzhang Scholarship and a place on the dean’s list (advised by Professor Liqiang Mai and Professor Qinyou An). Zhijun has received over 20 scholarships and awards, including the China Telecom Scholarship, the Hong Kong Government Development Scholarship, a Teaching Assistant Award, and an Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis award. His research focuses on understanding the morphology and chemical evolution of the zinc anode interface to extend the cycle and calendar life of zinc-based batteries through material design. He has authored more than 10 journal papers, including Nature Catalysis, Angewandte Chemie, Advanced Functional Materials, and ACS Energy Letters.
