Xiang Liu (刘翔)

Xiang Liu is a professor at Beihang Univeristy, where he researches solid-state energy conversion and energy storage materials. He received his master's and doctoral degrees from Sun Yat-sen University and The University of Hong Kong, respectively, and completed postdoctoral research at Tsinghua University and Argonne National Laboratory.
In 2022, Xiang joined Beihang University as the head of the Solid-State Energy Materials and Battery Safety Laboratory. Since 2021, he has also served as the battery materials research leader at the Academician Ouyang Minggao Workstation. He is a recipient of the National Overseas High-Level Young Talents Program, serves as the Chief Young Scientist for the National Key Research and Development Program, and is a member of the Expert Committee of the China All-Solid-State Battery Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Platform. Aligning his work with national 'dual carbon' (carbon neutrality) goals and critical energy security needs, Xiang focuses on battery safety and all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries.
