Kai Zhang is committed to the design of high-performance electrode materials and advanced electrolytes for sodium-ion batteries. He has published over 130 papers in reputable journals such as Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., Nat. Commun., Joule, Energy Environ. Soc., and Chem. Soc. Rev., accumulating over 13,000 citations and an H-index of 55 (Google Scholar, June 2024). Kai serves as the deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Chemical Power Sources. He was selected for the Korea Research Fellowship (KRF) Program (2016-2019) and the Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program funded by CAST. He was also awarded the first prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education of China (ranked 2nd, 2020).
