Jijian Xu (徐吉健)

Jijian Xu is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry at the City University of Hong Kong (CityU). He received his BSc and PhD degrees from Zhejiang University in 2014 and 2019, respectively. After working as a postdoctoral researcher under Professor Chunsheng Wang, he was promoted to an assistant research scientist at the University of Maryland. He joined CityU and established his research group in 2023. Jijian's research focuses on developing advanced electrolytes and novel electrode materials for high-energy batteries. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed papers in well-known journals, including Nature, Science, Nature Energy, Nature Synthesis, Nature Reviews Chemistry, Joule, and Advanced Materials, accumulating over 4900 citation with an H-index of 32 (Google Scholar). He also serves as a guest editor for Energy Storage Materials.
