Hongbin Yao (姚宏斌)

Hongbin Yao has been a professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) since 2015. He obtained his bachelor's and doctoral degrees under the supervision of Professor Shu-Hong Yu from USTC in 2006 and 2011, respectively. From 2012 to 2015, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Yi Cui's laboratory at Stanford University. Hongbin has published more than 150 peer-reviewed Science Citation Index (SCI) journal papers and achieved an H-index of 68. He was awarded second prize in the National Natural Science Award (2016), first prize in the Anhui province National Natural Science Award (2015), and was named a Highly Cited Researcher from 2019 to 2022. He is also supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Currently, Hongbin's research focuses on metal halide functional materials for light-emitting and energy storage devices.
