Yutong Song graduated from University of California, Davis, before earning a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2024. His doctoral research focused on applying optogenetic technology to study cellular and organelle biology, utilising widefield and confocal fluorescence microscopy to acquire essential intracellular data. Recognising that higher optical resolution provides richer biological insights, he is keen to gain practical, hands-on experience with advanced microscopy systems.
