Yusong Guo (郭玉松)
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Dr. Yusong Guo obtained his PhD in Cell Biology at Carnegie Mellon University. Then he performed his postdoctoral research in Prof. Randy Schekman’s lab at UC Berkeley. In 2015, Dr. Guo started his independent academic career at the Division of Life Science, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In 2021, he was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure. The research in Dr. Guo’s lab at HKUST is focused on investigating cargo sorting in the secretory pathway. In the past few years, Dr. Guo’s lab has elucidated novel molecular mechanisms regulating sorting of various disease-related transmembrane signaling receptors and their ligands in the secretory pathway. Dr. Guo’s lab also developed a novel vesicle formation assay in combination with quantitative mass spectrometry analysis that is robust to reveal novel factors that regulate vesicular trafficking.
