Dr. Xiangzhou Lao obtained his BEng from Xi’an Jiaotong University (2014), MSc in mechanical engineering (with distinction) from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2016) and PhD in physics from the University of Hong Kong (2020). After his PhD study, he then conducted postdoctoral research on super-resolution microscopy in the laboratory of Prof. Joerg Bewersdorf in Yale School of Medicine from 2020 to 2024. After that, he joined the School of Life Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong as a Research Assistant Professor in 2024. His research interests focus on fluorescence microscopy, fluorescent materials, spectroscopy, optical instrumentation and cellular structures.
