Xiangzhou Lao

Xiangzhou Lao obtained his BEng at Xi’an Jiaotong University (2014), MSc in mechanical engineering (with distinction) from Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2016) and PhD in physics from University of Hong Kong (2020). After his PhD study, he then conducted postdoctoral research on super-resolution microscopy in the laboratory of Professor Joerg Bewersdorf in Yale School of Medicine from 2020 to 2024. Moving on, he joined the School of Life Sciences at Chinese University of Hong Kong as a Research Assistant Professor in 2024. His research interests focus on fluorescence microscopy, fluorescent materials, spectroscopy, optical instrumentation and cellular structures.
