Pan Liao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Hong Kong Baptist University. He earned his PhD in Molecular Biology from University of Hong Kong (HKU), where he subsequently undertook postdoctoral training under Professor Meelen Chye. He completed further postdoctoral research in Distinguished Professor Natalia Dudareva’s laboratory at Purdue University (USA) and served as a visiting researcher in Professor John L. Harwood’s group at Cardiff University (UK) in 2017. Pan’s research encompasses plant biotechnology, biochemistry, specialised metabolism, lipid dynamics, volatile transport mechanisms, and metabolic pathway discovery and crosstalk.
