I am a third-year Ph.D. student in Plant Biology at the University of California, Davis, supported by the Croucher Scholarship. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where I studied vacuole biogenesis in pollen in Dr. Liwen Jiang’s lab. During my undergraduate research, I had the opportunity to utilize advanced techniques like Cryo-FIB and electron tomography (ET), which ignited my passion for the intricate beauty of cellular structures. Currently, my doctoral research focuses on the phragmoplast, a highly dynamic and unique structure made of microtubules that plays a key role in plant cytokinesis. I aim to further explore the mechanisms of phragmoplast expansion and look forward to engaging with global experts to gain insights that will drive my use of cutting-edge technologies in unravelling the long-standing mysteries of plant cell division throughout my Ph.D. journey.
