Junfeng Cao (曹俊峰)
Chinese University of Hong Kong
I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Liwen Jiang’s lab at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. My research focuses on the development of trichomes in crops, including the roles of transcription factors and epigenetic regulators such as RNA methylation in controlling trichome development and secondary metabolism. Despite the importance of these processes, there is limited research on how cellular organelles like vacuoles influence the elongation and development of trichomes at the cellular level. Therefore, at CUHK, I am dedicated to studying the role of vacuoles in the development and resistance of Arabidopsis roots, as well as how vacuoles affect cell elongation. My ultimate goal is to extend this research to major crops, enhancing our understanding and potentially improving crop resilience and productivity.
