Juncai Ma earned a BSc in Microbiology from Shandong University in 2016 and a PhD in Biochemistry from Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2021, where he is currently a postdoctoral fellow in Professor Byung Ho Kang’s laboratory. Their research focuses on plant cell biology, specifically investigating canonical and non-canonical autophagy pathways in Arabidopsis. Utilising advanced 3D electron microscopy alongside correlative light and electron microscopy, he studies membranous organelles in eukaryotes. Additionally, he explores liquid-liquid phase separation and phase transitions within cellular condensates.
