I am a Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Life Science at (HKUST). I earned my Ph.D. in 2017 from Nankai University. My research centers on unraveling the molecular mechanisms that govern the functionality of integral membrane proteins, which are critical for essential cellular processes such as sensing, stress response, and transmembrane signal transduction. Key questions driving my work include: • How do integral membrane proteins detect and respond to changes in signals? • What triggers their conformational changes? • How are extracellular signals transduced into intracellular responses? • What cellular processes are initiated as a result? To address these questions, I adopt an integrative approach, utilizing advanced structural and biophysical techniques. These include Cryo-EM single particle analysis (SPA), tomographic cryo-electron microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, biochemical assays, patch-clamp electrophysiology, and molecular manipulations. By leveraging this multidisciplinary toolkit, I aim to uncover deeper insights into the intricate molecular machinery that drives.
