I am a first-year PhD student in Prof. Kwan Kin Ming's lab, studying extracellular vesicles (EVs) biogenesis in the choroid plexus (CP) epithelium during brain development. The CP is a highly active secretory tissue located within the brain's ventricles, and recent research highlights its role in regulating neural stem cell (NSC) development through EVs. Tight regulation of EV biogenesis is essential for effective communication between the CP and the brain. My current research focuses on how BMP-Smad signaling pathways influence EVs biogenesis in the CP. I anticipate utilizing advanced microscopy techniques to investigate the underlying cellular mechanisms further. For instance, how the exosomes within the multivesicular body are released
