Kin Ming Kwan
Associate Professor, School of Life Sciences, Chinese University of Hong Kong
Kin Ming Kwan received his BSc degree with first-class honours and his PhD degree in biochemistry from the University of Hong Kong in 1990 and 1997, respectively. He then pursued his postdoctoral training and became an instructor at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre in the USA. He joined CUHK in 2006 and was awarded the Young Researcher Award in 2008. He also received the Faculty Exemplary Teaching Award three times in 2009, 2013, and 2022 in recognition of his contribution to teaching. In 2022, he was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award to recognise his excellence in teaching. Kwan has been Associate Dean (Education) of the Faculty of Science since 2019, and he has been the first Programme Director of the Natural Sciences Programme since 2014. His research interest is in developmental biology, focusing on dissecting the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neural development and functioning.
