Byung Ho Kang
Assistant professor, School of Life Sciences, Chinese University of Hong Kong
After completing his PhD in biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003, Byung Ho Kang conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In 2007, Kang joined the Department of Microbiology and Cell Science at the University of Florida as an assistant professor, where he was promoted to associate professor with tenure in 2013. In 2015, Kang moved to the Chinese University of Hong Kong to join the School of Life Sciences, where he has continued his research since then. His work focuses on plant cell biology, with a special interest in the molecular mechanisms behind organelle biogenesis and remodelling. Kang specialises in advanced cellular electron microscopy tools, including electron tomography, cryopreservation, and correlative light and electron microscopy. His papers have been published in prestigious journals such as Science, Cell, PNAS, and The Plant Cell.
