Joan Zuo
Professor, School of Pharmacy, Chinese University of Hong Kong

Joan Zuo holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and has had over 25 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics fields. Since 2000, she has been with the School of Pharmacy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, securing over 24 million in grants from various agencies such as University Grant Council, Innovation Technology Foundation, Food and Health Bureau, Hospital Authority in Hong Kong SAR as PI to support her research on both western drugs and herbal bioactive components. Her work has improved drug quality control and delivery, and identified potential herb/drug interactions. Joan's research has resulted in over 300 publications and patents across the USA, China, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. In Hong Kong, she serves on several government committees related to pharmacy and traditional Chinese medicine. She is a Council member of the Metropolitan University of Hong Kong and Incu-Bio, and an expert panelist for the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation. Internationally, Joan is a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and has served on the nomination committee for the International Society of Xenobiotics. She is also the regional editor for the European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and a reviewer for over 50 international journals.
