Wanying Sun is a third-year PhD student in Leo Poon's lab at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), where her research focuses on the evolution and transmission patterns of the influenza A virus. Specifically, she is investigating the global transmission dynamics of influenza A among birds in Hong Kong to gain a better understanding of how the virus spreads within regional avian populations. She is dedicated to advancing knowledge in the fields of virus evolution and epidemiology.
