Elena Yang (杨春晖)
Sun Yat-sen University
I am a second-year graduate student in Shi Mang's lab at the School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University, Shenzhen Campus. My research focuses on discovering human clinical pathogens and understanding their interactions with hosts using high-throughput sequencing technology. Throughout my two years of master's studies, I have been deeply involved in identifying biomarkers for pathogens in the human upper and lower respiratory tract. I independently conducted the entire analysis process, from bioinformatics to statistical analysis. Proficient in programming languages commonly used for analysis, such as Linux, R, Python, etc., I also possess a fundamental understanding of viral genomes. As my research progresses, I have become increasingly aware of the gaps in my knowledge base and the importance of effective communication. Therefore, when I encountered this opportunity, I eagerly signed up without hesitation.
