Verity Hill

Verity Hill is a postdoctoral research associate in the Evolutionary and Computational Virology lab at KU Leuven, with expertise in viral evolution, molecular epidemiology, and phylodynamics. She holds degrees from Oxford, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and Edinburgh, where her PhD thesis on Ebola and SARS-CoV-2 earned the 2023 Ker Memorial Prize. Her research advances understanding of epidemic spread and public health strategies, with a strong publication record in genomic transmission and pathogen evolution. Hill is also an experienced presenter and is experienced in teaching and engaging with students and professionals, such as teaching in the International Bioinformatics Workshop on Virus Evolution and Molecular Epidemiology (VEME).
