Samuel Cheng (鄭武雙)

Samuel Cheng is a research officer at the School of Public Health at the University of Hong Kong, where he also completed his PhD in virology. His doctoral research focused on the immunogenicity of SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination, and his broader work spans viral immunology, vaccine responses, and emerging respiratory viruses including influenza, SARS-CoV-2, and MERS-CoV. Samuel is also leading multiple surveillance teams, bringing together laboratory and public health perspectives to support the monitoring of infectious disease threats. He has contributed to a wide range of high-impact studies in infectious diseases and public health, with publications in journals such as Nature Medicine, Nature Communications, The Lancet, and Eurosurveillance.
